With over 20 years in Audio/Video system design and sales, entrepreneur and pioneer in life sciences communications, Musician, Producer, Lifelong Music Collector and having spent hundreds of hours in the studio, touring and performing, Jeff understands what real music and musicians sound like.
His passion, like so many others in this hobby, is for curating audio systems that deliver musical content honestly and accurately but above all, with emotion and beauty. Understanding that analog reel to reel tape is the purest music delivery format extant and the origin of all popular recordings prior to digital, Jeff began searching for the best reel to reel sources and audio components capable of delivering that content without corruption. The search is finally over. Reel Sound is honored to present to North America... for the first time. The award winning “product of the year” Metaxas & Sins Toubillion and Pappillion Reel to Reel Players and the supporting family of amplification, speakers and accessories utilized in their design and ultimate performance. After over 30 years of work in the field of High End Audio, from the design and manufacturing of entire playback systems to the recording of over 300 acoustic concerts to gain further musical insights,
Kostas was dreaming of the most spectacular architecture, design and sculpture he had experienced and wanted to bring that emotional intensity, daring and seductive beauty to a new series of audio components.
As a recording engineer, Metaxas also wanted to "voice them" for extremely realistic recording playback, to be able to easily reproduce all the nuance and emotion of a musical performance.
The new collection is the result. Machined from solid blocks of either aircraft aluminium, copper or titanium, featuring totally bespoke and modular electronics making them future-proof.
The Sensual, organic and striking casework [inspired by the stunning work in Sports cars of the 1950's/60's of Ercole Spada, Pininfarina as well as the architecture of Hadid, Gehry and Calatrava] and absolutely every part of the components including the circuit, topology, layout and casework has been developed by Kostas Metaxas. It is the logical evolution of his groundbreaking design concepts pioneered in the early 1980's.
Then, it true "Bugatti fashion", each and every product is assembled by the master or his sins (sons) — either Andreas or Alessandros Metaxas.
Every case is individually 5-axis CNC'd from a solid block of solid metal. This presents a very solid, inert, non-resonant structure to RFI shield and protect the delicate electronic signals. This low-noise shielding assists to achieve the breathtaking musical 3D depth, transparency and realism.
